I connected my earphones, but it shows “No earphones”

This happens when your phone isn’t currently sending sound to your earphones, or Nenne hasn’t received the connection update yet. Reconnect your earphones and check that your phone’s audio output is set to them.

Nenne checks the earphone connection using the audio output information your phone reports. So even if your earphones are on, if your phone is sending sound elsewhere, it shows “No earphones.” In earphone mode, you can’t start a timer while this shows.

Check these in order

  1. Check that your earphones show as “Connected” in your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
  2. Check that your earphones aren’t already connected to another device, like a laptop or tablet.
  3. Disconnect your earphones and reconnect them a few seconds later, or turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  4. Leave Nenne for the home screen and reopen it.
  5. Update Nenne to the latest version.

If it still isn’t recognized

As a workaround, you can switch the alarm mode to “Speaker.” Contact us with your phone model, OS version, and earphone model name, and we’ll look into it. Letting us know which earphones aren’t recognized also helps other users a lot.

iPhone

Check that your earphones are selected in the audio output button in Control Center.

Android

In an earlier version, on Android 12 and above, the indicator sometimes didn’t update after Bluetooth earphones were disconnected, or USB-C earphones weren’t recognized. Update to the latest version.
