My alarm rang through the speaker even though it was in earphone mode
This can happen if the alarm was actually saved in speaker mode, or if your phone reported a Bluetooth speaker as earphones. If it was right after an app update, the first alarm may have rung through the speaker before you opened the app.
Check these in order
- Alarm mode · For a nap, check that “Earphone Alarm” is selected on the Home tab; for a wake-up alarm, check that earphone mode is shown in the list and edit screen.
- Connected devices · Disconnect any Bluetooth speaker, soundbar, or car audio system. Phones sometimes report these devices as if they were earphones.
- App version · An earlier Android version had issues misidentifying low energy (BLE) Bluetooth speakers as earphones, or continuing to ring through the speaker even after earphones were removed. Update to the latest version.
- Right after an update · A wake-up alarm set to earphone mode in an earlier version may ring through the speaker the first time after an update, until you open the app. Open Nenne once after updating.
- Test alarm · Set a 10-second timer and lock the screen to check which device it rings through.
On the flip side, if a speaker-mode alarm rang through your earphones
On iPhone, if earphones are connected while the screen is locked, even a speaker-mode alarm can ring through them. Taking them out makes it ring through the speaker instead. To have it ring through the speaker, disconnect your earphones before you fall asleep.
If it still rings through the speaker
Contact us with your phone model, OS version, earphone model name, Nenne version, and the situation where it happened. Let us know whether the app was open, whether the screen was locked, and whether it was a nap or wake-up alarm — that helps us check it quickly.
