I reopened the app and my running nap timer is gone
In the latest version, reopening the app finds any nap alarm still scheduled on your phone and shows the remaining time and a cancel button again. If you’re on an older version, please update.
In an earlier version, if you force-quit the app during a nap and reopened it, the Home tab showed its idle state, and while the scheduled alarm would still ring, there was no way to turn it off beforehand. This was fixed after user reports.
Why did this happen?
The on-screen countdown only exists inside the app, so it disappears when you force-quit — but the alarm scheduled on your phone stays. Now, whenever the app launches or comes back to the foreground, it checks for a remaining schedule and reattaches the running screen.
Here’s how it works now
- The running screen reappears no matter which one you use to open the app — the app icon, the progress notification, the Live Activity on the lock screen, or a widget.
- The remaining time is calculated from the originally scheduled alarm time.
- Cancelling the timer from this screen turns it off immediately, with no ad.
- If it’s in earphone mode and no earphones are connected when you open the app, it stops right away and cancels the schedule to prevent ringing through the speaker.
- If the alarm time is nearly up or it’s already ringing, it goes straight to the alarm screen.
When it can’t be restored
If you force-quit the app while the timer is paused from a disconnected earphone, there’s no alarm scheduled on your phone, so there’s no nap to restore when you reopen it. The alarm won’t ring in this case either, so start a new nap.
iPhone
The notification and the Live Activity on the lock screen don’t have a cancel button. Open Nenne and cancel from the running screen.
Android
Tapping “Cancel Timer” on the nap progress notification opens the app and turns off the nap with no ad. This works even if the app is closed. On Samsung devices, you may need to pull down and expand the notification to see the button.
